Having dog training lessons with Alison from Kensington Hounds is one of the best decisions we have ever made. Our two gorgeous and loving Hungarian Vizsla’s are lunatics. Prior to Alison’s magical training, they would pull, bark and jump-up during every walk. Passer-by’s would either be in hysterics or shock with the calamity unfolding in front of their very eyes and if they happened to be walking another dog…….oh dear, it was carnage. Alison, with her great calmness, poise and sense of humour introduced a small number of magical tips and interventions and the results have been miraculous. Within three months our walks around parks and central London roads are now a happy experience. No more pulling, little if any barking and instructions being followed. The proof is in the positive comments from our friends and neighbours…It is an astonishing transformation. The next step is being able to take them for a pint in a local pub without causing a catastrophe. This training should be even more fun! Thanks Alison
I was a client of Kensington Hounds LTD for four years. During all that time, my dog was regularly walked off leash with them, and there had never been an incident. That’s why what happened is so devastating — and why I feel it’s important to share my honest experience. While under their supervision, my dog escaped during a walk, ran through several streets, and was fatally injured by a car. This happened during a paid professional service where safety and control should be guaranteed, especially by a team who had known him for years and understood his temperament. What was even more troubling was the company’s response. The explanations I received were inconsistent and changed depending on who I spoke to. Instead of acknowledging what went wrong, the focus shifted to excuses, technicalities, and assigning blame elsewhere. The basic fact is this: a dog who had been safely off-lead with them for years was suddenly able to run off, panic, and reach a main road. That points to a failure in control, supervision, and protocol on that particular day — not an unavoidable accident. After the incident, the company attempted to frame it as unpredictable behaviour and brought up unrelated household issues to dilute accountability. This level of defensiveness and lack of transparency was extremely disappointing. I am sharing this so other dog owners can make an informed decision. A professional service should prioritise consistency, safety, and clear communication. In my experience, Kensington Hounds LTD fell short in all three at the moment it mattered most. Nothing can bring my dog back, but if this review helps prevent another tragedy, writing it is worth it. — Guia
No desire for a naughty puppy? Search no more, Alison @Kensington Hounds has come to the rescue. I started training with her and my black lab Paloma from 3 months could see the excellent results straight away. Also extra bonus that Alison has a background as a vet nurse so any questions regarding food, teething, general health covered. I can highly recommend her and will continue the training sessions. Not only do I have a now 7 months old puppy that sits, waits, leaves, drops and walks close by my side. Paloma is also having the best time with Alison and so have I. Thank you @Alison for all the good work and looking forward to our next session.
